Messi’s Wedding: Who’s Coming? Where’s It Happening?
Messi is on the good side on his career right now. Barcelona won the Copa Del Rey for the fifth time. So Messi is taking a break from his career to focus on his personal life right now. The man is all set to tie the knot on 30th June. Since it is not even a month away, the preparations are at the peak right now.
Who and where is he marrying?
He is getting married to his long time girlfriend and childhood friend Antonella Roccuzzo. He has known her since they were five. They have been dating since 2008 and marriage was always on the cards for these two. They even have two sons – Thiago, a four year old and Mateo, a 21-month old.
The exact venue of the marriage has not been disclosed so that fans or media don’t bombard him during this private moment. However, we have come to know that he is getting married in Rosario, Santa Fe – the place where he grew up and played his first game.
Who is invited and who didn’t make the list?
Messi has a long list of people that he could invite. But he has chosen not to invite some which includes Luis Enrique. It seems like Messi wants to keep his career apart from his personal life. He also didn’t invite any of the assistant coaches Robert Moreno, Rafel Pol, Juan Carlos Unzue or Joaquin Valdes. He also didn’t invite any of the members of the board.
Apart from these, the ones that will not be attending the wedding are Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique. Iniesta already told Messi that he will not be able to attend the wedding. Pique might also be absent at the wedding because there’s a brawl brewing between his wife Shakira and Messi’s would-be wife.
Among the ones that will be present are – Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Neymar and Luis Suarez. He has invited all of the 21 team members of the Barca first team. It is expected that they will be accompanied by their former teammate Xavi. It is a moment of reunion for the boys.
What will they gift him?
The couple has long believed in causes and this time also they are doing the same. Instead of gifts, they are encouraging the guests to donate to his charity – the Leo Messi Foundation which supports children healthcare, education and sports.
